Projects & Partnerships
At the Banff Food Bank, we believe that community health starts with our youngest members. That is why we are so proud of our latest initiative: delivering a fresh box of apples to Banff Elementary School every single week.
The Alpine Apple Project
Food security isn't just about meals at home; it’s about ensuring that every child has the fuel they need to learn, play, and grow. A piece of fresh fruit is more than just a snack—it is a boost of energy that helps a student focus on a math problem instead of a growling stomach

By bringing these apples directly into the school environment, we are:
-
Removing Barriers: Every child has equal access to fresh produce, regardless of their circumstances at home.
-
Encouraging Healthy Habits: Making fresh fruit a consistent, reliable part of the school week sets the foundation for a lifetime of wellness.
-
Reducing Stigma: When a box of apples is available to everyone, it becomes a shared community resource rather than a "handout."
